Wooden wicks are more sustainable, cleaner to burn, with little to no soot production and don't produce any harmful smoke when extinguished. With cotton wicks, you will often see the tip mushroom or bloom as they develop a carbon build up which produces black smoke. With wooden wicks they have a small amount of ash build up which is easily removed when the candle is extinguished and the wick trimmed. Our wicks are sourced from an eco conscious environmentally friendly company who uses a percentage of each sale to plant more trees. The trees used for the wicks come from their own plantation.

Do I take my crystals out of the candle?

For candles infused with carefully selected cleansed crystals, these can be left in and will sink to the bottom as the candle burns however if you prefer to remove them, allow the candle to reach full melt pool, extinguish, then use a spoon to remove the crystals, careful not to burn yourself. Otherwise these can be removed at the end once the candle is finished. Please see our crystal care tips page for more information.
